Letter to Parents - Ofsted Report 2009
8 June 2009
Dear Parents and Carers
Please find below a download link to a copy of the school’s latest Ofsted Report.
The report highlights what we know, i.e. that we are a rapidly improving school, and this gives us a great sense of achievement. It is one thing to know that as a school we are good in many areas of our work but it is motivating to have it confirmed by an experienced outside body.
I would like to thank you for your support of the school during the inspection, especially for the completed questionnaire returns. The views of parents are taken seriously by Ofsted to the extent whereby they are now reported upon. The report is reflective of the school as a community and we should all be pleased with our contribution.
We are all committed to The Grange School being considered a good school. The report highlights that we are good in so many ways but although our results have improved significantly over recent years we are repeatedly compared against national averages. Until such times that we, alongside other Upper Schools, achieve the national average it is difficult to be judged as good. There in lies the challenge.
We have high expectations for our students and the vast majority reach and exceed these expectations. They can take pride from their contribution to the school. Behaviour was judged to be good in school and as parents I hope you can take confidence from this. We know this has not always been judged as good but now gives everyone the platform from which to move to the next stage of the school’s development.
What pleases me most, and I am often told this by visitors to our school, is that it is an enjoyable place to be. For the school to be described as harmonious is a compliment.
Once again thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Mr V Murray
