Examination Information For Students
It is especially important that you attend each examination in full school uniform, in particular black shoes. Failure to do so will mean exclusion from the examination until you are properly attired. You should also ensure that you have all the necessary equipment for each examination. Mobile phones, alarm watches, sweets, biscuits etc. will not be allowed in the examination room. If a mobile phone rings or receives a text message during any examination, the incident has to be reported to the Examination Board and you may have ALL your examinations declared void.
Morning examinations will start at 9.00 a.m. and afternoon examinations at 2.00 p.m. The venues for each examination will be shown daily on a notice board in the foyer. Anyone arriving late should report to Reception and ask for the Examinations Officer. You should arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start time.
Students unable to attend an examination due to illness must provide the school with a Medical certificate to cover this absence within three days of the examination. The certificate should be given to the Examinations Officer. The same process applies for a Special Consideration request as explained in your candidates booklet given to you last Autumn Term.
Examination results will be available on Thursday 27 August 2009. You may collect them from the school foyer from 11.00 a.m. on the day of your results. Please note that results will not be given over the telephone or collected by a person other than yourself without a written note. Pupils requiring their results to be posted must provide the Examinations Officer with a large stamped addressed envelope.
The certificates generally arrive in school during October/November. A Certificate Evening will be organised for December 2009 and details will be sent to you nearer the time.
Certificates will be available for collection directly from the Examinations Officer’s office after the evening. No certificates will be posted. Remember that your certificates will be needed for either university or for employment and they are usually kept only a year in your school.
