In the academic year 2023-2024 students’ results were based upon national examinations again. Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.
KEY STAGE 4 RESULTS
The school secured a good set of GCSE results in 2024 and we were very proud of all the efforts of our students following the difficulties of learning through the Covid national lockdown.
The following details show the 2024 Key Stage 4 performance measures:
Progress – The Progress 8 score for The Grange School will be shared when provided by the DfE
Attainment – The percentage of students who achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSE was 41% (an increase of 5% from the previous year)
Attainment – The attainment 8 score for The Grange School in 2023 was 44.2 (an increase of 0.7 from the previous year)
Attainment – The English Baccalaureate average point score in 2023 was 3.87 (an increase of 0.13 from the previous year)
Attainment – The percentage of students that enter the EBacc in 2023 was 34% (an increase of 2% from the previous year)
Destinations – the percentage of students staying in education or went into employment after Key Stage 4 in 2022 is 93%

Attainment in 2024
The average point score per A level entry was 21.88 and the average grade was D* (in 2023 this was 21.10 and as an average grade achieved was D)
The average point score per academic entry was 21.9 and an average grade was D* (in 2023 this was was 21.10 and as an average grade achieved was D
The average point score for applied general was 29.17 and the average grade was a merit* (in 2023 this was 25.17 and the average grade was a Merit)
