During the Autumn and Spring terms Year 9 students will be given the opportunity to choose the courses that they will study during Years 10 and 11 at The Grange School.

We present students with the opportunity to choose from a wide range of courses appropriate to their abilities and interests.  It is important that all students consider their option choices carefully.  To support this process, we provide a comprehensive programme of information and guidance.

KEY EVENTS

Option Choice Workshops will be delivered during the school day for all students.  During these workshops students will be given information on the range of courses available to them.  They will also be given advice and support on how to make the right choices for their individual needs.

During the workshop days students will be given the opportunity to take part in a range of ‘taster’ lessons helping them to understand the differences between the different courses on offer.

Year 9 students will be provided with a Key Stage 4 Options Guidance booklet in January.

Year 9 Parents’ Evening – Parents/carers will be able to speak with teachers concerning their child’s progress in their current subjects.

Options Evening – During this evening the options process will be explained to parents/carers.  There will also be the opportunity to speak with the subject leaders for every subject on offer.

By providing this support, our aim is to enable all students to make informed choices that will be appropriate to their individual needs and aspirations.

Dates for these events will be sent by letter to parents/carers and will feature on our school calendar.
