As part of our whole school literacy drive we are once again looking forward to celebrating National Poetry Day which this year takes place on Thursday 2 October. This year’s theme is “Play.”

To mark the occasion, all form groups will take part in an exciting poetry quiz! The first entries to be submitted with the most accurate responses will receive a prize in recognition of their efforts!

Key Stage 3 students will engage in poetry reading and analysis during their English lessons on National Poetry Day to deepen their appreciation and understanding of this important literary form.

Our fabulous Library and Learning Resource Centre are also running a competition to write a Limerick! A printed entry form can be collected from the library or you can print a copy at home and get creative writing your poem! Prizes are up for grabs for this one too!

This is a wonderful opportunity to promote and celebrate literacy across the school and we are excited for everyone to take part!
