From the start of the new academic year in September, we will be retiring Satchel and moving to Bromcom as our main platform for setting and managing homework.
This means that, from September, students and parents/carers will no longer need to use Satchel to keep track of homework. Instead, homework will be set and accessed through Bromcom, bringing it together with other important school information in one place.
What does this mean for students?
Students will be able to use Bromcom to see the homework that has been set for them, including important information such as what they need to complete and when it is due.
Bromcom will become the place students should check regularly for their homework, so it is important that they get into the habit of checking it as part of their normal school routine.
Students can access Bromcom through the Bromcom Student Portal or Student App, using their school Microsoft account. They can sign in with their school email address and their usual school computer password.
What does this mean for parents and carers?
Parents and carers will also be able to use My Child At School (MCAS) to keep up to date with their child’s school information.
As well as homework, MCAS provides access to information such as:
- Attendance
- Timetables
- Behaviour and achievements
- Detentions
- School communications and notices
- Assessment information
- Exam information
This means that Bromcom will provide a much more joined-up experience, with homework and other key information available through the same system.
