On Tuesday last week, students across the school took part in dedicated Drop Down Sessions during Period 1, supported by their Form Tutors. The sessions provided valuable opportunities for students to reflect on their progress, explore future aspirations and develop the skills needed for success.
Year 7 students focused on our core value of Independence and Self-Responsibility. They reflected on the progress they have made since joining The Grange School, explored what success means both in and beyond the classroom, and were introduced to Unifrog. Students have since continued exploring the platform during their Enterprise lessons, using personality and interest-based quizzes to learn more about their strengths and aspirations.
Year 8 students also explored the theme of Independence and Self-Responsibility, reflecting on their achievements and progress. As part of the session, students created interests collages and considered how their hobbies and interests may connect to future career pathways. They were also introduced to Unifrog, which they will continue to use throughout the academic year.
Year 9 students welcomed representatives from the Civil Service, who delivered an inspiring careers talk highlighting the wide range of opportunities available within the organisation. Students heard real-life career journeys, reflected on their own interests and aspirations, and considered potential future pathways. Later this year, they will begin using Unifrog through their Enterprise lessons to further support their career exploration and planning.
Students in Years 10 and 12 explored future education and career pathways through Unifrog, developing their understanding of the opportunities available to them and helping them make informed decisions about their next steps.
Year 11 and Year 13 students spent time reviewing their latest reports and progress tracker booklets, reflecting on their achievements so far and identifying key priorities as they continue their preparation for GCSE and post-16 examinations.
These sessions help ensure that students remain focused on their goals while equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to achieve success both in school and beyond.
