Today we have been celebrating your Level 3 examination results in the form of A Level or BTEC qualifications. For those going on to university and apprenticeships it is a defining moment and I want to express thanks and appreciation for all that you have brought to The Grange.
It is all too easy to forget the eventfulness of your passage through school, which was disrupted for the best part of two years due to COVID but your resourcefulness and positivity will hold you in good stead. It was a turbulent time and for many of you this will be the first time you have needed to sit public examinations, and to be frank they will most likely be the most demanding examinations you will be required to sit.
There will be those of you who are rightly absolutely thrilled with your achievements, and there will be others who will think that they should or could have achieved more. In all cases it is a time to reflect and grow, learn from what you did well and what you could do better next time.
Today is a time to celebrate in both your own achievements and the achievements of others, express thanks and appreciation to those friends, family, and staff members who have helped you on your current journey, and to be grateful for both what you have and for what lies ahead.
I am hopeful that you have what you need for your next steps, and that you are bold in your choices. The next phase of your life is extremely exciting and one to be embraced. Over the years I have watched you grow into incredible young people. You know who you are and have so much to offer. I am fortunate to have so much confidence in the young people of today, both in terms of your outlook and moral character.
Today is a moment that marks the end of a period in your life, and an opening to your next phase of your education or career. We want you to keep in touch and share whatever comes next.
