On the evening of Thursday 26 June we were delighted to host our show piece event – the Key Stage 4 and 5 Awards Evening. This is a chance to celebrate our wonderful students’ achievements with their parents and carers. The canteen organised an impressive array of nibbles for all of our guests whilst our PTA, Friends of The Grange School provided a selection of drinks and treats.
All subjects present two awards. The Main Award is for the top performer and the Progress Award is for the person who has made the most improvement over the course, often overcoming obstacles and personal challenges along the way. ![]()

There are also awards for ‘Pastoral Stars’ and those who have made ‘Outstanding Contributions’ to Sport and Music and then the big one which is the ‘Overall Contribution to the School’. This year the awesome Kyla McC won this award and Mr Murray was able to list the vast array of things she has done to make her a very worthy winner! ![]()
There was also an award for the Enterprise Hero, which is for a teacher. This went to the fabulous Mr Dharsey in recognition of his years of leading our Duke of Edinburgh scheme as well as supporting us with enterprise projects in school.
The evening was rounded off by our Guest of Honour, Stephanie Boyce who is a former student and who became the first person of colour to achieve the status as President of the Law Society of England and Wales. She delivered a truly inspirational speech about aspirations and belief. Stephanie was on her way to the O2 Arena to deliver a major presentation to over 4000 professionals, so we were very lucky to have her!
A special thanks goes to the many Year 12 students who helped on the night, Mrs Hackett from our admin team, the site team for their support and efforts and all of the staff involved with the planning and organisation of the event.
We can’t wait to see who wins the awards at our Key Stage 3 event which takes place on the evening of Tuesday 15 July 2025. ![]()
