Earlier this week, our Year 11 students came together for a special assembly led by Mr Sabin, Mr Murray and our Year 11 Year Team Leaders, following their mock exams. The event was planned to replicate the real results day in August with the associated feeling of excitement, nerves and anticipation!

Before receiving their results, students were asked to pause and reflect on how they approached the mock exams….. 🤩Worked hard and hoped for great results 😊Worked a bit and know they can improve:😐Didn’t work as hard as they should have 😵‍💫Didn’t work and aren’t sure what to expect.

The messages were clear…

✨ Don’t be too upset if results aren’t what you hoped, there is still time to improve

✨ Look closely at where marks were lost to see where you should focus

✨ From now on, don’t tolerate disruption or anything that stops your learning

✨ Continue to work as hard as you have been or can from now on and to step up a gear if you haven’t been working until now. You can still achieve your very best with the right positive attitude and approach!

✨ If you’re feeling stressed, talk to us, we’re here to help!

Students then received their results before Mr Murray shared advice and inspiration on making the most of the rest of Year 11. We want our students to open their results in August feeling proud, knowing they gave their very best.

We also reminded students that Sixth Form could be a great option after Year 11: Our Sixth Form is highly rated! We want you to stay with us “we look after our own” Application forms are due by 30 January and our new prospectus available on the Sixth Form pages of our website Any questions? Pop in for a chat

For extra support outside school, The University of Hertfordshire is also running a helpful online session for Year 11 students. This will be a great opportunity to explore sixth form and college options and plan next steps

Well done Year 11. Let’s keep going!
