Last Friday 8 May felt like one of those days we’ll all look back on with absolute fondness. Our Year 13 students spent their final day in school surrounded by the people, memories and moments that have shaped their Sixth Form journey.
Head of Sixth Form Mrs Devanney created the most beautiful send‑off. Thoughtful decorations, themed cupcakes and and snacks to share around the tables that have held so many conversations over the last two years.
There were heartfelt words from both Mr Sabin and Mrs Devanney, reflecting on how far this year group has come and the incredible young adults they’ve grown to be. Form tutors spoke about their groups with such pride and affection. Some had to choke back the tears. A powerful reminder of the relationships that have developed and the friendships, resilience and bonds that have carried these students through every high and low.
And of course, the student‑led Awards Ceremony brought laughter and nostalgia. From Most Likely to Become a Millionaire to Biggest Gossip, every award was chosen with love, humour and memories only this year group will truly understand.
We ended the day the way all good celebrations should end. Together. Laughing, smiling, sharing pizza and soaking in the last moments of an amazing final chapter.
To our wonderful Year 13s: thank you for your energy, your spirit and the positivity and kindness you’ve brought to our school. Now go and shine in those exams. Your future is waiting, and it’s incredibly bright!
