From 6 –10 July, our Year 12 students stepped into workplaces across the local community gaining real‑world insight, building confidence, and showing exactly what our We Can ethos looks like in action.

Work experience is a vital part of our careers pathway at The Grange. It builds on the strong foundation set in Year 10, where students undertake a full two‑week placement, and extends into Year 12 with opportunities that deepen independence, professionalism and ambition.

This year’s programme has been exceptional and our students have truly shone judging by some of the feedback showcased below.

One additional highlight came from Archie’s placement, where his contribution made a genuine impact:

“Archie is doing a great job. Here is the result of his project .….something we have been wanting but unable to do for over a year in the town centre. This will comfortably be our most viewed story of the week and is going in next week’s print paper as a double‑page spread, so fair to say Archie has done a fantastic job and had plenty to take away from it hopefully.”

A huge thank you to Mrs Devanney, Head of Sixth Form, and our Careers & Enterprise Coordinator, whose organisation, guidance and dedication make this programme possible every single year.

And thank you to all our employers and families for supporting our students. Your encouragement helps them grow, aim high, and step confidently into their futures.

Well done to every single Year 12 student for representing our school so brilliantly. Your professionalism, maturity and enthusiasm have been recognised across the community, and we are incredibly proud of you.
