We’re launching our Bad Writing Competition and challenging you to create the most awful, cringe-worthy, hilariously bad opening line imaginable!
Here are some gloriously terrible examples to inspire you:
“A long time ago, but not too long ago, about 2 weeks, there was a town so boring even the grass refused to grow.”
“Her name was Amber, Lily, Maeve or something like that. Maybe George? Oh wait, that’s my name. Oh well. It doesn’t matter.”
“I had gotten myself into such a pickle that I could almost smell the vinegar.”
Rules:
• Your work must be original
• Opening line = max 30 words
• Submit on the official entry form
• Prizes for winners & runners-up in each age group
