The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) requires all exam centres to reinforce the rules and regulations about unauthorised items and materials during an examination. Any potential technological / web enabled sources of information such as mobile phones, iPods, MP3/4 players and smart watches, fitness trackers are not permitted in the examination room.

If a student is found to be in possession of any unauthorised item after the start of the examination, the device will be confiscated and a full report will be submitted to the examination board who will take the necessary action in accordance with the JCQ Rules and Regulations on Malpractice. This may result in a disqualification.

In line with those JCQ requirements, the school has decided that students will no longer be permitted to take their school bags, mobile phones and any unauthorised materials into the examination rooms.

With immediate effect, students will be required to drop their bags and phones into specific allocated rooms outside the Sports Hall which will be then locked during examinations.

For students sitting in the Library or IT3 with access arrangements, the drop-off room is Mr Palmer’s classroom.

For morning exam sessions, the rooms will be open from 8.40am and for afternoon exam session, from 1.40pm.

It is the responsibility of each student to bring their own equipment into the examination room. As a reminder, full school uniform must be worn at all times.

We wish all the best to all students sitting examinations this term.
