Last week, 8 of our Year 10 Skippers attended the Bucks Youth Summit held at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
The event invited young people from across the county to share their voice on the biggest issues and areas of interest for young people in Buckinghamshire today.
In total, 164 young people took part, representing 20 schools and 11 youth groups across the county. The event was also supported by over 70 professionals from a wide range of partner organisations and teams.
The students chose 4 ‘conversation spaces’ to attend throughout the day which included:
Active Health
Technology in Education
Social and Emotional Health
Identity Space
Community Engagement Space
Political Engagement Space
The students shared glowing feedback on their return and when asked what has been good, stated:
“being able to understand different viewpoints”
“speaking to others and sharing my opinions”
and “everyone is so kind and friendly”.
Thank you to the Bucks Youth Summit team for organising a memorable event for our young people ![]()
