Families can now enjoy our latest instalment of Family Enrichment Activities, part of our new initiative this academic year designed to support parents and carers in helping children learn beyond the classroom. This week, we’re excited to share our History edition, packed with fun, local and completely optional activities that help bring the past to life.
The poster highlights a fantastic range of summer history events across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. Families can explore Pitstone Green Museum, with its fascinating Victorian farm buildings and glimpses into rural life from a bygone era, or dive into hands‑on historical experiences at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, including Tudor Merriment, Viking Raids, Victorian weekends and more.
There are also brilliant opportunities at Discover Bucks Museum, from Saxon exhibitions to archaeology festivals, as well as Milton Keynes Museum’s Summer Holiday Family Fun and 1940s Weekend. Families can enjoy Guided Tudor Walks at Amersham Museum or visit the Trenchard Museum at RAF Halton, which opens its doors every Wednesday and on the second Saturday of each month.
As always, we would absolutely love to see what you explore and discover. Please send any fantastic photos or examples of what you get up to to Miss Glenister at [email protected]. There are prizes for the most creative entries, and selected submissions may be shared on our social media platforms, weekly bulletin and school website.
We hope these activities spark curiosity, imagination and plenty of family fun as you journey through history together this summer.
