As there has been no change in the red weather warning and forecast and the early and prolonged high temperatures throughout the school day, I have decided in consultation with the Chair of Governors and Local Authority to close the school for students on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
It is not a decision taken lightly and factors in both health and safety and operational factors that on this occasion necessitates closure.
As we have the capability to set work remotely, I have asked your child’s teachers to set their classes a small amount of work for both Wednesday and Thursday.
We will return to normal hours on Friday.
