On Monday 15 May, 60 girls from Year 3 and 4 from St Mary’s Church of England School and Hayden Abbey School joined us for a football festival on our school field which was expertly organised by our Sports Leaders. The focus of the project was to stimulate interest in girls football and encourage participation rather than competition.

Thirteen Year 1o and five Year 12 students did an absolutely fantastic job of coordinating the event and encouraging the very excited pupils around the six football stations! Well done to Billie D, Lucy S, Maria R, Mehnoor Z, Caitlin R, Grace C, Lilah S, Ruby W, Lily C, and Martha E from Year 10 and Woody D, Owen C, Charlotte L, Isabel M-D, Ane C and Emily B. They were all brilliant on the day, working well as a team and in an organised fashion to ensure the event ran smoothly.

The Primary pupils were an absolute credit to their schools and really enjoyed their time with us. They particularly enjoyed meeting our new family of ducks in our school pond! Thank you so much for coming to join us!
