On Monday 2 March, we had a visit from Cooper and his handler Charlotte, along with PC Cann and PC Smith from Thames Valley Police.  Cooper ‘sniffed’ his way around classrooms, lockers, toilets and many other parts of our site.  We are happy to report that nothing was found, apart from the planted sponge to keep the dog on his toes.

Students and staff saw the dog in action and also had the opportunity to meet Cooper and Charlotte at break time in the playground to ask any questions and to pet Cooper whilst he was ‘off duty’.

PC Smith will be back in school in a few weeks time to talk to our students further about the danger of banned substances and about county lines during assembly time.

We will be inviting Cooper and Charlotte back to school in the future to make sure our site stays safe for staff and students.

Thank you to all of our students who had their lessons disrupted for a few minutes whilst the searches took place.
