Over two fantastic days, on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 July 2026, we were thrilled to welcome our Year 6 students who will be joining us as Year 7 this September. The Transition Days were designed to help students feel confident, prepared and excited for the next stage of their school journey and they certainly rose to the occasion.
Day 1 focused on settling in and building connections. Students took part in team‑building activities, met their new form tutors and Year 9 buddies, explored the school through guided tours, and enjoyed a range of fun challenges to help them feel at home. The day ended on a high with a lively Fit and Funky session, where students showed incredible energy and enthusiasm despite the warm weather. During the evening we were delighted to welcome parents and carers for a special information evening.
Day 2 gave students a taste of secondary learning through engaging taster lessons across different subjects. Morning and afternoon assemblies brought everyone together, reinforcing the sense of community and excitement for September. Students spent more time with their form tutors and buddies, who will continue supporting them when they return as Year 10 mentors.
Across both days, our new students impressed us with their positivity, politeness and eagerness to get involved. They embraced every opportunity with confidence, kindness and brilliant attitudes even in the heat.
Transition is a key milestone, and these two days have helped students build friendships, settle nerves, and become familiar with their new surroundings. We are incredibly proud of them and can’t wait to welcome them back in September.
Have a wonderful summer, Year 6, your next chapter awaits!
